Rates Steady At 16 Month Lows. Rates have stayed steady for the last two weeks at their lowest rates since September 2017. A summit with China with Trade/ Tariffs on the agenda and the Fed meeting are potential market movers in the coming week. The Fed is expected to reverse its policy and cut rates in July and maybe two more times in the course of 2019. This correlation between Fed rate changes and mortgage rates is only loose however and it’s likely that these expected short-term rates are already priced into today’s market. 42% of experts think rates may go down further this week. 33% think they will stay steady and 25% think they will increase! If you have any questions or would like advice tailored to your needs, I'd be very happy to help! And if you have any family or friends that you think might benefit from my services I would be very grateful for the referral.
